Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you, however we have a preference for Sydney.

What you’d be doing in this role

The People team at Canva is on a mission to empower our team to do the best work of their lives! Canva has been a goals, skills and values-driven company since day 1, and we look to embed these deeply within all we do. One of the key areas of this at Canva is our Impact Experience (Canva’s Performance Management) process and programs which is a critical element of driving our high performance culture.

Having launched our current Impact Experience in 2021, we are looking for a Lead to take this space at Canva to the next level. You will be instrumental in owning and evolving fundamental aspects of the program (process cadence and operations, review components, 1:1s, goal-setting, feedback, etc) as our company continues to scale.

You’ll become the main driver for this critical program and will work closely with a small team, as well as Total Rewards, leaders and People Group partners (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, People Operations, People Partners) to continuously hold a high bar for the Canvanaut experience, ensuring we are seamlessly driving and inspiring growth and impact that is grounded in goals, skills and values.

What you’ll do

  • Continuously improve the Impact Experience and optimise employee growth and impact based on new insights and evolving needs.
  • Efficiently and effectively implement the Impact Experience – leading the development of strategy, operations, communications, training, and resources.
  • Design and implement continuous feedback and coaching processes and resources to optimise growth and impact outside of formalised Impact Experience.
  • Bring thought leadership and identify innovative methodologies to drive high performance through performance processes, feedback, and development
  • Partner cross-functionally with Total Rewards, Learning, People Operations, and People Partners to make the program as impactful as possible.
  • Continuously solicit feedback on the effectiveness of performance management approaches and provide recommendations.
  • Work with our Business Systems/IT team to ensure that we’re using the right tooling to optimise the Impact Experience
  • Engage with leaders to clarify strategic priorities and co-design goals and outcomes for which they are accountable.
  • Partner with our Learning team to build out Impact Experience education, and be the face of our Impact Experience across the business
  • Scale the Impact Experience by rallying coaches to drive high performance.

You’re probably a match if

  • You have successfully designed and implemented performance processes in global organisations with 4,000+ people
  • You’re constantly thinking about the future and seeing what’s ahead, spotting opportunities to elevate and level up, as well as the road bumps.
  • You’re passionate about goals, skills and a values-driven performance culture
  • You have excellent people skills and communication skills to rally partners and teams
  • You’re experienced in a SaaS or heavily technology-enabled business.
  • You’re data obsessed - use data to generate insights and enable effective decision making and action
  • You have designed programs that reinforce cultural priorities, including diversity and belonging.
  • You have experience working within, or closely partnering with Total Reward and People experience teams (particularly around performance management, feedback, goal-setting)
  • You have a strong curiosity about measuring the impact of programs and continuously improving them
  • You apply a product approach to the development of people development programs, e.g design thinking, prototyping and iterative design
