Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • You will be the guiding force of asset management best practices for teams that deliver incredible creatives.
  • You will share insights, analytics, and recommendations for advanced digital asset management methods and emerging AI technologies.
  • You will develop and uphold the taxonomy strategy that enables Canva’s Marketing objectives.

You're probably a match if

  • You have a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or relevant technical experience.
  • You have experience developing and maintaining metadata, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomies.
  • You possess hands-on technical experience with library systems, content management systems, or preferred, digital asset management (DAM) systems.
  • You have demonstrated success working with Enterprise digital assets, and federated systems.
  • Firm knowledge of metadata and taxonomy application for system navigation and content search and retrieval.
  • You have experience with cross functional department processes.
  • You have strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.

The mission of Canva's MarTech group is to enable marketing teams to accelerate their output, efficiencies and intelligence to drive meaningful business outcomes and magical experiences for our community. An Asset Librarian is vital to empower the entire content life cycle from creation to distribution. They ensure that content is optimized for maximum engagement and consistency across all marketing channels and campaigns, with methods that heighten the user experience.

We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target salary range for this position is $113,000 - $143,000 . When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.
