SMB Outbound Sales Manager

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, resilient, and strategically-minded Sales Manager to drive our small-medium business (SMB) sales and expand our customer base. As a sales coach, your primary role will be to take the lead in creating and implementing effective outbound sales strategies, and deliver on program objectives and revenue targets.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Manage, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team; ensuring they have the necessary tools, knowledge, and training to effectively perform in their role.
  • Develop and implement a detailed sales strategy in partnership with our GTM Lead, to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Champion and advocate for SMB needs with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Data, Product, Enablement, etc.)
  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting coachees with landing strategic deals
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products, competitors, and overall market trends
  • Leverage CRM systems to track all customer interactions and forecast sales
  • Handle and coordinate the sales process, including negotiation and closing deals
  • Prepare reports and analytics pertaining to sales progress, achievements and challenges

You're probably a match if:

  • You have proven successful experience as an outbound sales manager, ideally within the SMB market and SAAS industry
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate decisions while building and enhancing internal and external relationships
  • You are excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • You have strong time management and organizational abilities
  • You have experience with Salesforce and Gong
