Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At Canva we’re making design simple and accessible to everyone, empowering people all over the world with a design tool – and the design skills – to help them reach their goals.

Our Social, Content and Community team aims to inform, educate, and nurture users' design skills and Canva journey in many ways. We're responsible for producing impactful content across social media, product education, customer case studies, plus community and user engagement. We serve many audiences, large and small, with a huge variety of stories, content, and instructional information, and always showcase the very best of Canva and our community's achievements.

About the Role
You will be a copywriter in our Evergreen Content Production crew as part of our broader Social, Content & Community team. You'll collaborate with Educators, Designers, and Content Creators to bring ideas to life through multiple channels. Working closely with cross-functional teams at Canva (Marketing, Channel, Product, Partnerships), you'll help audiences better understand our products and ensure the Canva brand is consistent across all consumer touch points. 

What you'll do

  • Develop, draft, and edit copy across many of our platforms, including social media, display advertising, lifecycle emails, long- and short-form blog articles, webinars, educational content, and much more.
  • Work with teams of content creators, educators, marketers, and platform experts to develop and deliver on-brand copy and storytelling.
  • Work across many projects at once, maintaining Canva's brand voice while content is tailored for different audiences.
  • Develop briefs, content, ideas, and tactics as part of a team of committed, collaborative professionals.
  • Provide thoughtful, measured feedback to writers and content makers on how they can improve their craft.
  • Translate company goals into meaningful, impactful, and measurable content.

What we're looking for

  • You have strong experience writing for agencies, editorial, B2B and/or educational organizations.
  • You're comfortable editing and refining content written by other subject matter experts for a wide variety of channel outputs.
  • You know how to tailor writing to the needs of different audiences of varying practical skills and English fluency.
  • You've got a close understanding of digital marketing trends and conventions across websites, social media, email, on-site editorial, blogs, and articles.
  • You can write and deliver high-quality content for multiple channels and mediums in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with writing for digital marketing, product education, SEO, and/or editorial contexts will be favored.
  • You are familiar with fast-paced workplaces and workflows, where projects can evolve quickly.
  • Feedback and collaboration are a big part of your skill set. You know how to give and receive feedback and take a solution-focused approach to your work.
  • You're a collaborator, but you're also a self-starter who can work interpret company strategy and work independently to help achieve it.
  • You're passionate about writing and how it contributes to amazing user experiences and the growth of a successful product.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You're comfortable seeking clarity from stakeholders and building relationships in cross-functional teams.
